May 11, 2022Dana is pleased proud to announce she is speaking at an upcoming WOASN event scheduled at Santa Monica College this Friday, November 12th.
The event topic is Brain Health for Older adults. And Dana will be speaking as an expert panelist in her role as the ABI Peer Mentor Group co-founder.
Joining Dana on the panel are two renowned brain injury and brain health specialists:
Stephanie Lewis, MA, CCC-SLP, Acquired Brain Injury Specialist/Faculty, Center for Students with Disabilities, Santa Monica College
Ms. Lewis will offer an overview of the most common deficits that people experience, especially those that might not be obvious and can greatly impact functional independence. And share general ideas about maintaining overall brain wellness following neurological events will be included.
Ryan Glatt, MSc, CPT, NBWHC, Health Coach & FitBrain Instructor, Pacific Neuroscience Institute
Mr. Glatt will discuss Your Brain on Exercise: Learn about the basics of brain health, how exercise affects the brain, and how to build a brain-healthy exercise program to improve brain health, cognition, and maintain independence!
Dana will share her experiences as a stroke survivor and support group facilitator, offering practical insights on working the path to recovery and reclaiming one’s life in the wake of a traumatic brain injury.
